Everything you need to know about the BT Sport app closure

On 12 October 2023, the BT Sport app and web player will close. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to access even more sports all in one place with TNT Sports on discovery+.

That means to keep watching sports online on the newly named TNT Sports, you need to activate discovery+.

This will only impact the way you watch sports online. Nothing else in your package is changing and you can keep watching the TNT Sports channels on your TV as usual. If you’ve already activated TNT Sports on discovery+, you don’t need to do anything.

How to keep watching TNT Sports after the BT Sport app has closed

The discovery+ app is the new home for TNT Sports online.  Making the switch is quick and easy with three simple steps.

Step one: Activate

If you joined us before 18 July 2023 and had an active BT Sports account go to Activate discovery+ (bt.com)

If you joined after 18 July 2023 or have not activated BT Sports go to https://www.ee.co.uk/TNTSports

Please note if you’re visiting over a Wi-Fi network you’ll need to complete a onetime pin challenge. You’ll need to enter your mobile number to receive a PIN to be able to verify it’s you.

If you’re having problems with this, try switching off Wi-Fi and use a mobile network or download Chrome from the App store and enter https://www.ee.co.uk/TNTSports into a Chrome Browser.

Step two: Create a discovery+ account

You’ll then be asked to create a discovery+ account and accept the Terms of Use or sign in. If you already have a discovery+ account, please sign in.

Step three: Start watching online

Download the discovery+ app from your favourite app store or watch via discoveryplus.com

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to pay for discovery+?

No, you don’t need to pay for a new subscription to discovery+ if you’re a TNT Sports customer. Once you’ve activated your discovery+ account use the ‘sign in’ to start watching.

Why doesn’t discovery+ recognise my email address and password?

Your existing login details won’t work with discovery+. You need to register and then activate using the instructions above.

When you’ve activated use the ‘reset your password’ link at the sign in page to create a new password. If it doesn’t recognise your email address, make sure you’ve followed the steps above.

How does the discovery+ app work?

Once you've activated and created your discovery+ account through EE, you'll be able to browse and watch discovery+ shows through the discovery+ app or via https://www.discoveryplus.com/gb

Do I have to do anything as an existing discovery+ subscriber?

If you have an existing discovery+ subscription and activated this package through EE, you might end up with two subscriptions. To avoid this, cancel your existing discovery+ subscription in accordance with its terms and wait until it ends before activating discovery+ through EE.
