We’ve introduced two new digital eSIM distribution journeys designed to simplify deployment. Whether you're scaling across teams or tailoring access for individuals, these flexible options let administrators choose the distribution method that best fits their business needs.
This is for all new and existing business customers who have access to Mobile Manager.
Setting up your digital eSIM via Mobile Manager
Using Mobile Manager, you’ll be given multiple deployment options from where you can choose the best method to distribute your eSIMs.
The following distribution options are available:
- Via Digital eSIM QR Code – This is a standard digital eSIM process. The end user receives an email with a QR code link, downloads it, and activates the eSIM. A reliable choice for any eSIM compatible device.
- Via DTD eSIM Push install – The eSIM is sent via a notification directly to the end user's device, you just need to follow the prompts to download and activate. Perfect for users across the UK and beyond. Works seamlessly on Android and iOS devices when the EID is available.
- DTD MDM eSIM install – Businesses managing SIM assets via an MDM platform can efficiently distribute eSIMs ensuring seamless activation and deployment. Ideal for both Windows 11 laptops and iOS devices – perfect for cross-platform deployments.
Why can’t I see the ‘Shop’ link in Mobile Manager?
You may not have online ordering enabled. Contact Mobile Manager Support team or your mobile administrator.
Why is the ‘Send’ button not available for my eSIM?
Make sure the eSIM is in a valid status like ‘Assigned’ or ‘Needs distribution’. Other statuses may not allow sending.
How can I send eSIM directly to the end user?
First make sure your eSIM is in ‘Needs distribution’ status, select the number and choose the distribution method, enter the email/EID and click ‘Next’ to proceed further or save and complete the ‘Send journey’.
Can I send eSIMs in bulk?
Yes. For numbers more than 10 you can use the Bulk/Edit and Upload/Send features to assign and send multiple eSIMs at once.
Why did my bulk upload fail?
Check that all mandatory fields (email, password, EIDs) are filled correctly and meet format requirements. Fix errors and re-upload.
What should I do if I can’t scan the QR code?
Users can manually activate the eSIM using the activation code provided in the email.
Why can’t I replace an eSIM in ‘Needs distribution’ status?
eSIMs in this status do not need to be replaced or swapped. They are ready for distribution.
Why is the QR code no longer visible?
QR codes are one-time use. If scanned once, they disappear for both admin and user.
Why is the replacement journey locked?
You’ve reached the limit of five replacements for the same user in 48 hours. You can replace as many individual subscribers as you wish, but we limit to five per subscription, as it indicates something is wrong. If you've hit the limit for the same subscription, please call the Mobile Manager help desk so they can investigate the issue and potentially override the limit if necessary.
Why can’t I send eSIMs via DTD Push or MDM method?
If your eSIM is in ‘Available as a QR Code’ status you will only be able to distribute via the QR code method. To distribute your eSIMs via DTD Push or MDM method your eSIMs need to be in the ‘Needs distribution’ status.
