INADVERTENT ROAMING NEAR INTERNATIONAL BORDERS

Mobile phone signals can travel over international borders.

For example, if you're in Northern Ireland and close to the border, you could pick up the signal from the Republic of Ireland. This would mean you'd be roaming onto another network and paying potentially higher charges.

Tip: So remember to check the name of the network shown on your phone before you make a call if you're near the border of another country, or turn off data roaming if you don't want to roam onto another network.
