My EE makes managing your data easy. You can use it to keep track of your allowance and set controls to allow or prevent your users from buying additional data. Remember, your plan’s data allowance resets every month.

You can easily see how much data you’ve used and how much you’ve got left until your allowance restarts in the My EE App.

  • Download the My EE App (if you haven't already)
  • Log in to the App and you’ll see your remaining data allowance on the Home screen
  • To check the data allowance for other mobile numbers on your account, access the main menu, select the mobile number and the remaining allowance will be displayed

Don’t have the App? Just view your data usage on our website:

  • Log in to My EE and select Current Usage from the main menu
  • You'll see your remaining allowances, including data in the Your allowances section

You can also check your data usage by sending us a text:

  • Text AL to 150
  • We’ll text back with your remaining allowance, including data

Can I check my historic data usage?

Check how much data you used in previous months (including any additional data add-ons you bought) using the My EE website:

  • Log in to My EE and select Current Usage from the main menu
  • Scroll to the Your Allowances section and select the See details link beside your data allowance

What happens if I use up all my data allowance?

It’s best to choose an EE Business plan which has all the data you’ll need. What happens if you run low – or even run out – depends on the plan you’re on.

EE Business plans with Stay Connected

If you bought your EE Business plan after 27 October 2021, it includes our exclusive Stay Connected feature. So you never have to worry about running out of data again.

When you’ve used 80% of your data, we’ll text to let you know. You can also buy a data add on if you want.

If you use all your monthly data allowance, you’ll automatically switch to a slower speed (0.5Mbps) with Stay Connected. You’ll still be able to access business-critical apps like email, WhatsApp, and Maps – even if you have no data left that month.

When the next month of your plan starts, you’ll be back to full data and full speed.

Business Connect plans

There’s no data cap on Business Connect plans. So if you use all your data allowance in any month, you’ll stay connected at your usual speed – but you will need to pay additional charges for any extra data you use. You can view out of bundle charges in the EE price guide (.pdf 1 MB)

We can send you alerts to help you manage your data usage. You can opt in to text messages when you’ve used 80% of your monthly data and when you’ve used all your monthly data. To opt in to allowance alerts or check how much data you have left, call 150 from your EE phone. We’re here to help 8am to 8pm every day.

All other EE Business plans

When you’ve used 80% of your data allowance we’ll send you a text message to let you know. If you use all your data allowance, we’ll send you another text to see if you’d like to buy a data add on to keep connected.

If you decide not to top up, you won’t be able to use mobile data to access the internet until the next month of your plan starts. Data caps like these prevent customers from paying extra charges.

How do I buy more data?

If you’re on a Pay Monthly plan, it’s really easy to buy more data. If you run out, we’ll text you a link to top up your data.

You can also buy a data add-on any time you need it.

How to buy a data add-on

  • Buy a data add-on online – open this on your mobile device on the EE network, and choose the data add-on you want. (Note: you’ll need Wi-Fi switched off)
  • To buy over the phone, call Customer Service on 150 from your EE phone or 07953 966 250 from any other phone. We’re ready to help 8am to 8pm.

Can I restrict users from using data and/or buying data add-ons?

You can restrict individual mobile numbers on your account to prevent individual users from buying additional data. When they finish their data allowance, they’ll be unable to use data and won’t be able to buy additional data add-ons which would normally be applied to your bill.

You can also completely block their mobile data. This means that they won’t be able to use any of their data allowance, so they won’t be able to do basic things like check their email or use Maps on their device. They’ll only be able to use their device to connect to internet if they use Wi-Fi.

You can add or remove both bars within your account settings:

  • Login to My EE and access the Account Settings menu
  • Select Manage within the Usage Control section
  • Select the mobile number you want to make changes to from the dropdown
  • Toggle the Buy data control to allow or bar the user from being able to buy data add-ons
  • Toggle the Usage data control to allow or bar mobile data access
