Setting up your iPhone eSIM - FAQs

What happens if I can’t scan my QR code with my iPhone?

You can use your iPhone to manually enter the information from the QR code. Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Go to Mobile Service or Mobile Data – depending on what your iPhone shows
  3. Select either Add eSIM or Set up Mobile Service  again, depending on what your iPhone shows
  4. Select Use QR Code
  5. Select Enter Details Manually
  6. For SM-DP+ Address enter ee.pr.go-esim.com
  7. For Activation Code, enter your unique code on your eSIM pack – you’ll find it below the pack's setup instructions.
  8. Leave the Confirmation Code field blank

Can I use my QR code more than once?

Yes, QR codes can be reused up to three times on different phones or the same phone. To reuse your QR code, ensure you are connected to Wi-Fi before deleting the eSIM profile from the phone you’re currently using it on.

Which line are my calls on?

Initially all your contacts will be assigned to the default voice line you chose during set up. You’ll see an indicator within each contact that gives you the option to change which line you use for that contact.

If you're entering a phone number straight into the keypad, you can choose which line calls that number using the options on the screen.

When you receive incoming calls, you’ll see a call indicator to show which line is receiving the call. The indicator is the first letter of the name you assigned to each line. So, if the labels you’ve used are called Personal and Business, then the call indicator is or B.

Can I use iMessage and Facetime on both lines?

From iOS 13 onwards, both lines can be used for iMessage and Facetime. You can manage this in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.

Can I use data when I'm on a call?

If you're taking a call on the line that's not your default data line, data won't work unless you switch on Mobile Data Switching.

To do this go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Switching and it will automatically switch lines for mobile data when you're on a call. It’s the easy way for you to talk and use data at the same time.

Setting up your Samsung eSIM – FAQs

What happens if I can’t scan my QR code with my Samsung phone?

You can use your Samsung phone to manually enter the information from the QR code. Here's how:

  1. Connect to the internet on Wi-Fi or Mobile Data
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Go to Connections
  4. Go to SIM card manager
  5. Select Add mobile plan
  6. Select Scan carrier QR code
  7. Rather than scan the code, select Enter activation code

You’ll then need to type two things on one line:

  • LPA:1$ee.pr.go-esim.com$
  • Plus the unique 32-digit activation code on your eSIM pack

So if your activation code was ABCDEF1234567890ABCDEF1234567890 you’d type:

  • LPA:1$ee.pr.go-esim.com$ABCDEF1234567890ABCDEF1234567890

How to set up your Samsung phone for two SIMs

You can set up a Samsung Galaxy Dual SIM device with a combination of:

  • Two SIM cards
  • A SIM card and an eSIM
  • A MicroSD card and an eSIM or SIM card (except for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip)

Each SIM will have a different number. If you have an unlocked device, you can also:

  • Have two SIMs on different networks (for example for a work number)
  • Insert a local SIM if you're travelling abroad
  • Manage what number to use for calls, messages, data, voice, and apps

Choose a SIM for calls, messages and data

To choose the SIMs, phone plans and numbers that are used for calls, messages and data, go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager > Preferred SIMs.

Your phone will alert you if you try and make a call from your non-preferred SIM.

You can’t have two active calls at the same time. So, if you’re on the phone and your other number receives a call, then that incoming call goes through to voicemail. You can set calls to be forwarded from one line to another.

Messaging apps

Dual Messenger lets you create duplicate applications for messaging applications (like Skype or WhatsApp) for each number. Head to Settings > Advanced features > Dual Messenger.

Can I use my QR code more than once?
