HOW TO SWITCH FROM EE TO A NEW PROVIDER

Thinking about leaving the UK’s number 1 network?*

We’d be sorry to see you go. But we’re here to help with what you’ll need to give to your new provider before you switch:

  • Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) – if you want to keep your mobile number (port number)
  • Service Termination Authority Code (STAC) – if you want to change phone number

Not sure whether moving is right for you? To help you decide, you can ask us for switching information about your plan and find out if there are any charges to pay before you leave us.

And because PACs and STACs are valid for 30 days, you can take time deciding if leaving EE is right for you.

How to switch from EE online and keep your number (port number)

Keeping your mobile number when you move to a new network (known as ‘port number’) is something you can do online with EE. We’ll give you a Porting Authorisation Code – known as a PAC – so you can keep your number when you switch.

There are different steps to follow depending on whether you’re a small business customer or a large business customer.

Small Business

  1. Sign in to My EE
  2. In your mobile account, click ‘Switching mobile service’
  3. Because you want to keep your number, make sure you choose the PAC option and complete the online form
  4. We’ll email your PAC to you within 2 working days – and show it in your messages in My EE.

Large Business

  1. Sign in to Mobile Manager
  2. Select Admin in the left-hand menu
  3. Select Manage Services
  4. Check the box next to any phone number you want to switch
  5. Select PAC then Update and then Yes
  6. We’ll get back to you within 2 working days. When your PAC’s ready, you’ll see a Mail icon in Mobile Manager.

When you get your PAC, you’ll need to give it to your new provider before they complete your order. This is so your number switches and you’re not billed by two providers at the same time.

PACs are valid for 30 days, which gives you lots of time to decide if leaving EE is right for you.

You can also ask us for switching information to help you make the right choice – just choose this instead of asking for a PAC.

More than one number on your plan? Give us a call about keeping your number when you switch – we’re ready to help port numbers for you. Or if you have more than 99 subscriptions, you can email us at sme.admin@ee.co.uk

How to switch from EE online and change phone number

If you want a new mobile number, you’ll need to give your new provider a Service Termination Authority Code (STAC). A STAC makes sure you don’t get billed by two providers at the same time. It’s easy to request a STAC from us online.

Small Business

  1. Sign in to My EE
  2. In your mobile account, click ‘Switching mobile service’
  3. As you don’t want to keep your number, make sure you choose the STAC option and complete the online form
  4. We’ll email your STAC to you within 2 working days.

Large Business

  1. Sign in to Mobile Manager
  2. Select Admin in the left-hand menu
  3. Select Manage Services
  4. Check the box next to any phone number you want to switch
  5. Select STAC then Update and then Yes
  6. We’ll get back to you within 2 working days. When your STAC’s ready, you’ll see a Mail icon in Mobile Manager.

When you get your STAC, give it to your new provider before they complete your order. STACs are valid for up to 30 days.

Want information to help you decide about switching? No problem. Instead of selecting STAC, just choose the switching information option online.

For requests for plans with more than one number, it’s better to call – we’re ready to help. Or if you have more than 99 subscriptions, you can email us at sme.admin@ee.co.uk

How to switch from EE over the phone

Just give us a call to request:

  • A PAC to keep your current mobile number when you switch (‘port number’)
  • A STAC to change phone number when you switch
  • Switching information to find out more about your plan and if you need to pay anything extra

We’re ready to help – especially if you have more than one number on your price plan.

Making a large request? Because it includes lots of detail, we’ll probably send it to you by email.

We’ll also send any PAC or STAC to you by SMS.

If you’ve asked for a PAC or STAC, you can then pass it on to your new mobile provider if you decide to go.
