Nobody likes unexpected bills. An EE Business spend cap makes it easy to avoid them.

Choose an amount on top of your monthly plan and set it as your spend cap. So you never face any unexpected charges. You’ll get a text alert if you get close to your spend cap. And another one if you reach it. If you find yourself needing more that month, you can change or remove your spend cap in My EE. It’s the flexible way to stay in control.

So what are you waiting for? You can set your optional spend cap when you buy a handset, tablet, SIM-only or mobile broadband plan. Or when you upgrade or renew one of these plans. With options between £0 and £200 on top of your plan, you can choose the EE Business spend cap that best suits your budget.

International calls, roaming and UK calls and texts outside your plan are all covered by a spend cap.

What’s affected by spend cap?

This usage will count towards your out-of-plan EE spend cap:

  • UK voice calls
  • UK text messages
  • UK picture messages
  • UK data on Business Connect plans
  • Calling abroad
  • Roaming
  • Access charges to premium numbers and numbers beginning with 09, 118, 083, 084, 085, 087, 070
  • Premium rate texts sent from your mobile
  • Call divert charges
  • Calls via text relay
  • Calls to 123
  • Calls to bypass services 07744 and 07755
  • Paging services
  • Calls to satellite numbers and planes

Once an EE Business spend cap limit is reached, this usage will be limited.

This usage will not count towards your out-of-plan EE spend cap:

  • Monthly plan charges, and other recurring charges
  • One-off data passes
  • Buying add-ons, like extra minutes, TNT Sports, Apple Music, or any purchase made via charge to mobile
  • Service charges for premium numbers and numbers beginning with 09, 118, 083, 084, 085, 087, 070
  • Premium rate texts you receive
  • Insurance
  • Admin fees

This usage will be billed, even if an EE Business spend cap is in place.

Is data included in the EE Business spend cap?

Data already has its own in-plan limit, and is separate from the EE Business spend cap.

If you reach your in-plan data limit, you will be covered by our Stay Connected benefit. However you can buy a data pass allowing you to use more full speed data on top of your plan. 

The cost of the data pass will always be added to your bill, even if you’ve reached your EE Business spend cap that month.

When and how can I set a spend cap?

When you buy one of our mobile devices, set your EE Business spend cap in five simple steps:

  1. Choose your device
  2. Choose your plan
  3. When we ask if you want a spend cap, tick the box
  4. Choose your spend cap amount from the drop-down
  5. Buy your device – and you’ll have an EE Business spend cap on top of your plan

Your spend cap is set per device, so you can choose a different spend cap for each one.

Alternatively you can set, change or allow unlimited out-of-plan use of your spend cap yourself in My EE at anytime.

If you’re not the account holder, you’ll need to ask them to do this for you.

What are the different amounts I can choose for my EE Business spend cap?

You can set an out-of-plan spend cap between £0 - £200. You can also have an unlimited spend cap.

Choosing £0 spend cap blocks any usage on top of your monthly plan. This will stop you from calling premium rate numbers, for example. That’s because this type of usage is not included in EE plans, and is always charged on top.

Unlimited spend cap is the same as no spend cap on out-of-plan use.

All other amounts are on top of your monthly plan – so choosing a £20 spend cap, for example, allows you to spend £20 extra each month before use is limited.

When can I set a spend cap?

At Checkout or anytime via My EE.

What happens when I get close to or hit my spend cap?

We’ll text you when you’ve reached 80% of your cap and again when you hit your cap. You can easily increase or remove your EE Business spend cap yourself in My EE.

If you choose to set a spend cap, we’ll limit your use if you reach your EE Business spend cap.

For example, once a spend cap is reached, you won’t be able to make any more premium rate calls that month.

How do I change or remove an EE Business spend cap?

It’s easy to set a different spend cap or allow unlimited out-of-plan use yourself in My EE.

If you’re not the account holder, you’ll need to ask them to do this for you.

If I choose a £0 spend cap, will some usage be limited?

Yes. Setting a £0 spend cap will stop you from calling premium rate numbers, for example.

That’s because this type of usage is not included in EE plans and is always charged on top.
