What’s an eSIM? 

Well, just like a traditional SIM card, an eSIM stores the data your device needs to use the EE network. But, where you insert a SIM card into your device, an eSIM is downloaded directly onto your device.

Which devices can I use an eSIM with?

All of these devices are Dual SIM devices — they can use an eSIM or a physical SIM.

  • All iPhone models from XS onwards (XS, 11, 12, SE 2020 etc)
  • Many new Samsung devices (including S20, Z Flip, Fold, Note)
  • All Google Pixel devices from Pixel 3 onwards (3, 3A, 4, 4A, 5 etc)
  • The Motorola Razr (2019) is eSIM only

If you’re not sure if your device can support an eSIM, check its specifications with the manufacturer.

How do I get an eSIM?

If you’ve ordered a new eSIM only phone from us, we’ll send you an eSIM pack with a scannable QR coded with your new device.

If you’ve already got an eSIM device and you’re upgrading, you’ll need to order a new or replacement eSIM by:

How do I set up an eSIM on an EE Business phone?

To set up an eSIM you’ll need to be connected to the internet. If your eSIM pack contains a paper QR code, scan it — it contains information that lets us add your eSIM to your device safely and securely.

Can I move an existing phone line from a physical SIM to an eSIM?

Yes, if you already have a line with us you can order a replacement eSIM pack (see How do I get an eSIM above). To set up your eSIM:

  • Scan your QR code on your phone
  • Head to our SIM swap page and enter the 12-digit SIM serial number from your eSIM pack - you’ll be sent a pin verification to your old SIM

What can I do if I delete the eSIM on my device or my eSIM is lost or stolen?

If you’ve lost your eSIM device, it’s been stolen or you’ve accidentally deleted your eSIM, you’ll need to order a replacement eSIM pack by:

When you get your new eSIM you’ll need to call 150 to complete the SIM swap and follow the eSIM set up on your phone.

How do I move my current line to an eSIM line?

Once you've set up your eSIM, contact us to transfer your current line to your new eSIM. Make sure you have the SIM serial number from your eSIM card pack when you call us.
